Enjoy an evening of unique classical and jazz repertoire as some of Washington’s finest musicians come together in harmony for a common cause.  “Rhapsody for a Cure” benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and takes place on Thursday, June 10th at 7:00 pm at the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church.  The first half features the violin and double-bass duo of “Bridging the Gap” comprised of Peter Wilson and Aaron Clay.  The Washington Post has praised the duo’s, “…superior arrangements and uncommon musicianship.”  Featured works include medleys of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and George Gershwin. The concert will conclude with renowned concert pianist, AnnaMaria Mottola performing the 1924 original jazz orchestra version of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue which The Washington Post has hailed as, “…exhilarating.”  Tickets are $25/adult & children are free when with a paid adult.    All proceeds from “Rhapsody for a Cure” will support the one million Americans currently battling a blood cancer.
